Emergency Resources for Americans Abroad
Following the launch of U.S. combat operations in Iran, below is a list of resources to keep Americans traveling abroad, especially in the Middle East, safe.
Americans in the Middle East who need assistance can reach the State Department Consular Affairs bureau at:
(202) 501-4444 from abroad
(888) 407-4747 from the U.S. & Canada
My office is also here to help. You can reach out to my team at (714) 960-6483.
Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)
If you are traveling outside the U.S., enroll in STEP for free security updates and alerts from U.S. embassies and consulates abroad. You’ll receive messages for emergency situations with instructions on what to do so you can make informed travel decisions.
Worldwide Caution Link
If you are traveling abroad, especially in the Middle East, you may experience travel disruptions due to periodic airspace closures. The Department of State advises Americans worldwide to exercise increased caution.
