Representative Derek Tran Shows Support for Local Businesses, Meets with Community Leaders During August Recess

Friday, August 15, 2025

Orange County, CA – U.S. Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) spent the week meeting with stakeholders, hearing directly from community leaders, and visiting the local businesses that uplift California’s 45th Congressional District.

Throughout the week, Tran had the opportunity to visit several local businesses throughout Orange County. He met with employees at Kingston Technology in Fountain Valley and Printmasters, Inc. in Los Alamitos, where he had the chance to hear firsthand how President Trump’s tariffs are impacting their operational costs. Tran also visited Harbinger Motors in Garden Grove, where they discussed the importance of a green energy transition for vehicles and the dangers of reversing course on important investments in electric vehicle infrastructure. Partnering with the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Tran also toured California Fuels and Lubricants’ Garden Grove Facility to learn about the company’s footprint in CA-45. These businesses provide essential services and well-paying jobs for hard-working families across Orange and LA Counties, but rising costs are adding additional pressure to their bottom lines.

As part of his efforts to uplift Orange County’s small business community, Representative Tran attended several events where he had the opportunity to connect with local business leaders. At the Fountain Valley and Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfasts, Tran heard local elected leaders’ and business owners’ concerns about the impacts of economic uncertainty on their ability to do business in our community. Tran also delivered remarks at the Orange County Business Council’s legislative day, sharing updates on his work in Congress to empower local entrepreneurs and uplift small businesses.

Representative Tran had the opportunity to speak with executives from Raytheon Technologies in Fullerton, Auriga Space in Garden Grove, and Leonardo DRS Technologies in Cypress to recognize their contributions to bolstering the nation’s defense capabilities and discuss his work in Congress to further our national security goals. He also had the chance to tour the La Palma Police Department and Fullerton Fire Station No. 1, where Tran spoke with Jose Guerrero, Chief of Police for La Palma PD, and Fullerton fire officials about his work to ensure that local emergency response departments have the resources necessary to continue keeping communities across Orange and LA Counties safe.

During the month of August, Members of Congress return to their home districts to spend even more time directly engaging with their constituents. Representative Tran remains dedicated to ensuring that voices across California’s 45th Congressional District are heard in Washington, and that the diverse priorities of community members across Orange and LA Counties are being addressed on the national stage.
