Washington, DC – Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) joined members of the Democratic Veterans Caucus in a letter to President Trump calling for a War Powers Resolution following a unilateral attack on Iranian nuclear facilities without Congressional notification or approval. “As a Veteran myself, I am gravely concerned by the reckless, unilateral action taken by the Trump Administration to strike Iran without notifying Congress or seeking Congressional approval. President Trump’s decision to strike Iran puts our service members at risk and threatens to further destabilize the Middle East and entrench our country in another reckless war,” said Representative Derek Tran (CA-45). “I am proud to stand with my colleagues on the Democratic Veterans Caucus to demand that this Administration honors its Constitutional obligations and takes meaningful action to avoid a misguided, costly military venture.”

Signatories to the letter include:

  • Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA-24) – Marine Corps Reserve
  • Rep. Gil Cisneros (CA-31) – Navy
  • Rep. Herb Conaway (NJ-03) – Air Force
