Representative Derek Tran Co-Sponsors Resolution Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) co-sponsored House Resolution 1511 commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, honoring the memory of the victims and the courage of first responders, and recognizing the long-term impact of the attacks on the United States. 

“Twenty-five years ago, our country faced the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil,  claiming the lives of 2,977 victims, injuring thousands more, and changing the United States forever. In the 25 years since, I continue to find strength and inspiration in the courage, unity, and patriotism that led our country through the rescue, recovery, and relief efforts. As a nation, we must uphold the highest commitment to stand in solemn remembrance of the lives lost and those who were forever changed on September 11, 2001. It is our duty to never forget,” said Representative Tran.

House Resolution 1511 was introduced by Representative Andrew Garabino (NY-02), Representative Dan Goldman (NY-10), and Representative Mike Lawler (NY-17).  

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the long-term impact the attacks had on emergency personnel’s mental health, Congressman Tran introduced H.R. 10329, the Emergency Responders Mental Health Training (EMT) Act, which expands and improves access to specialized mental health and substance abuse care for first responders. In September 2025, Congressman Tran co-sponsored H.R. 1410, the 9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding Correction Act of 2025, which would modify the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) to ensure adequate funding until the program expires in 2090.
